Hi.

Is there a higher chance to make a critical hit, when the weapon req is lower?

thx

No. As long as you meet the requirement it has no bearing on critical hit chance or damage.

Though the higher you swordsmanship/axe mastery/hammer mastery is the more chance you have to get a critical hit.

Also apparently you cause more damage if your attribute level is higher than the req. of the weapon i.e. if you have swordmanship of 12 and a weapon with a req. of 8 you will do much more damage than if it was req. 11 for example.

Wow am I tired of this one ... hehe. The above quote is just flat wrong. Look at the Alex Weekes quote Loviatar put in the thread, and you'll understand:

Quote:
Also note that your attribute has a passive effect on damage and the likelihood of critical hits (and thus more damage) independent of the weapon requirement. The requirement sets the 'base' damage range the game uses, which is then modified by the passive effect to reach the final damage actually dealt.
Higher points in an attribute will give you more chance for critical hit, and thus more damage ... so if your attribute is at 12, and you have two identical weapons (one has req. 8, and one req 10) they will behave in exactly the same manner.

The only two (and I mean ONLY) reasons people want lower req. weapons is to have it be "perfect" for bragging rights, or if they are using a build that requires points to be spread out over a few different attributes (thumper-bunny hammer rangers come immediately to mind) so they can still get "max" un-modified damage from their weapon.

It's silly, it's crazy ... I know I know.

Lord Iowerth is correct same dmg but a lower req weapon will free up attributes to be put elsewhere if need. example a warrior with a req9 axe can max out strength where a warrior with a axe with req 11 will have less to put into strength.

I don't understand it, your post seems fine to me but people keep misquoting you. It would be hilarious but its not. It's sad instead .
